Event Dates: 10th – 11th March

If you have visited the festival before you will know that it can be very busy and we are expecting large numbers of people visiting the event, which will run from 6pm until 10pm on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th March. Food vendors will be located on Worcester St in the Wilsons Car Park area and in addition to the stage in Cathedral Square there will be a stage in the Ōtākaro Avon River Precinct. These will host both international and local cultural performances.
If you are new to the Christchurch Lantern Festival, then you can expect to see the Central City at its vibrant best. There will be fantastic lanterns, all along and in the Ōtākaro Avon River Precinct (between Friendship Corner and Worcester St, as well as amazing food and entertainment.
There will be road closures for the festival period to make it easier for attendees to access and walk around the event site, which will impact on vehicle movements. There will also be a number of streets that have no parking allowed. A number of road closures will be in place and a road closure map will be finalised the week before the event and can be found at www.tfc.govt.nz
Please plan any travel with this information in mind.

Event pack-out 11th – 14th March

We will endeavour to cause minimal disruption while we dismantle the site following the event, although there will be an increase in trucks and vans and road closures may apply.
